Viscosity Modifying Agent for Self-Compacting Concrete

  • EKAN®VM 10 establishes internal cohesion, plasticity and flexibility within the concrete and is effective even when used in small doses.
  • EKAN®VM 10 does not impact setting time. Using EKAN®VM 10 renders concrete mix less vulnerable to changes in water demand, while preventing segregation and bleeding.
  • EKAN®VM 10 should not be used with products based on naphthalene sulfonate.

Areas of Use

  • All types of cement (all types of EN 197)

  • Self-compacting concrete

  • Concrete with micro silica, fly ash, and furnished slag

  • In cases where an increased viscosity is desired

Application

Dosage: 0.1 kg – 1.0 kg per 100 kg cement.

Optimum dose of EKAN®VM 10 should be established after local tests considering expected mechanical properties of the cement and fluidity of the mixture.

EKAN®VM 10 is fully water-soluble. For best performance, it is recommended to add the product to the second half of the mixture water.

Measures

EKAN®VM 10’s shelf life is 12 months when stored in its original package and away from direct sunlight.

After a long idle period, shake, mix the product or use a circulation pump to homogenize it before use.

After a freezing-thawing cycle, mix the product before use.
